Can you explain how the All-In pledge tier ships in 2 waves?
The Shivers All-In tier ships in 2 stages. You’ll receive the Core game (and potentially Expansions 1 & 2, depending on current stock) right after the Kickstarter ends, and then the Triple Terror expansions and any other add-ons in early 2025. This will mean 2 shipping charges for you in the pledge manager (but 18 months apart). See the shipping chart for those estimates.

I have the Shivers Core game already, can I play the new Triple Terror expansions?
Definitely! But you’ll need to add the Expansion 1 & 2 bundle in the Pledge Manager if you also want to play the new Triple Terror expansions. Shivers expansions are sequential, and the new expansions will re-use some pop-up rooms and standees from the previous expansions. The Deluxe game already includes these 2 expansions.

I have young kids, will The Shivers be appropriate for them?
Great question, we designed this game for our own family. We recommend players be at least 8 (although we’ve had great sessions with 5-year olds), and the Storyteller should be at least 14. Content-wise, each episode has a content warning to let players know what might be coming. In general, the Core Game and Expansions 1 & 2 have a mild level of scariness (something in between Scooby Doo and Harry Potter). The new expansions will explore slightly more mature themes. Kids under 8 might be too rough on the pop-up structures.

How replayable is The Shivers?
Similar to an escape room, once you’ve played that particular episode, you’ll want to send your gaming group onto the next one in the series. Luckily, with the new expansions, we’ll have over 28 playable episodes for 40+ hours of gameplay! Of course, we’ve also noticed that if you return to an episode after a year’s time, your group will likely have forgotten all the details.

Does the Core game or All-In tier ship outside of USA/Canada?
Currently, our Core Game stock is only for customers in the USA and Canada. We are not planning on reprinting the Core game as part of this Kickstarter. Shipping US-based stock to other countries would not be region-friendly for tax purposes. You are welcome to use the buddy system, if you can have someone in the US or Canada ship it to you.

Will these new expansions fit inside the Core or Deluxe game boxes?
Yes! All new expansion content will fit into your existing Shivers Core or Deluxe game boxes (although the lid will no longer fully close down with the expansions inside).

I have the original Deluxe tier game, what do I need to play the new expansions?
You’ve got everything you need already! The previous 2 expansions already came inside your Deluxe box, so you’re all set to pledge the Triple Terror tier.

I'm new to The Shivers, how does the All-In pledge tier work?
If you are in the USA or Canada, the All-In pledge works in 2 stages. First, we’ll send you the Shivers Core game from existing stock. We’ll also send you the original 2 expansions (stock permitting). Then once the new expansions are developed and printed next year, we’ll send those to you in a second shipment. (Sorry, those outside USA and Canada can’t access this tier). Note that these 2 shipping stages require 2 different shipping payments in BackerKit (but spaced about 18 months apart).

How will these new expansions be different from the previous 2 expansions?
The original 2 expansions are amazing, and you’ll enjoy playing them! These three new expansions feature new and larger pop-up rooms. Also, they are designed to work with the new Fogmoor Manor façade, taking pop-up gameplay to a new level. In addition, we’ve tasked our writing team with creating trickier episodes, involving more challenging puzzles and more cryptic clues, and occasionally more mature themes.

Is The Shivers available in other languages?
Currently, the game is in English only. We are evaluating options for translation into international languages as part of a future 2nd print run.

How does the Fogmoor Manor façade work in the game?
Our new expansion episodes will feature the large pop-up façade in their gameplay. It will either help set up or conclude each story. Players can interact with it via their standees, as well as peeking in windows, opening doors, and finding hidden clues. Certain elements of the façade will be changeable with our Story Card system.

Can I use the façade on the previously-written episodes?
Definitely! For any episodes in The Shivers Core game or expansions 1 and 2, you can use the pop-up façade to help introduce the story, and once players have gone inside it can be folded and placed off the table. It would replace the current method of using the box lid as the introduction screen.

I live outside of USA and Cananda, but I already have the Shivers (Core or Deluxe games). Can I get the new expansions?
Yes! The new expansions will be printed at our manufacturer in Asia, then sent via ocean freight to distribution hubs around the world. You will receive all the new content, and will just have to pay normal shipping costs and applicable taxes. We’ll pay for the import duty fees.

How durable are the pop-ups? What if I break them?
We’ve cycled tested each room thousands of times, and each room is examined before it leaves the factory. Still, rooms very rarely arrive with some damage to the pop-ups. In those rare cases we ask the customer to send us a photo, and we can either offer instructions on how to repair the room or send a replacement.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
